The Severn Project #25 – Severn Aust Powerline

Part five of a photo series based on a walk along the entire 354km length of United Kingdom’s longest river, The Severn.

This section ran 13km from Chepstow under the Severn Bridge at Beachley to the Severn Aust Powerline, Western Pylon.

The Aust Severn Powerline Crossing is the longest powerline span in the United Kingdom with a span width of 1,600 m. The two massive Pylons are 150 m tall. The contractor was: J.L. Eve & Company.
