Assignment for Søren Jensen Engineers to document the construction in 2011 and completion in 2012 of Godsbanen / The Freight Yard, Aarhus, Denmark by 3XN Architects & Søren Jensen. The building is a centre for cultural production in Aarhus containing workshops, studios, theatre stages, auditoriums and a restaurant. The buildings used to host one of Denmark’s largest train freight yards and the new roof is open access allowing the visitors to walk over the building and get a panoramic view of the city including Your Rainbow Panorama and the Hothouse at the botanical gardens. More photos from this shoot

2012 International Photography Awards: 1st place in Architecture – Historic category

I’m delighted to announce that my work was awarded: 1st place in Architecture – Historic category for the winning entry “Pripyat: 21 Years After Chernobyl” in the 2012 International Photography Awards. I also received three honourable mentions in the categories for Fine Art – Landscape, Architecture – Cityscapes and Architecture – Buildings.

21 years after the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded these images of the town capture a memory of three traumas: the invisible radiation, the visible looting and the gradual collapse of a ghost town.

Multi-Function Sports Hall at Magdalen College School, Oxford

The building’s form and materials give a new unity to the eclectic surroundings

The building is clad in semi-transparent Rodeca Polycarbonate as used by Herzog & de Meuron architects on the Laban Contemporary Dance Centre, London

The copper rain screen ties in with the existing buildings on site

The glulam structural timbers are beautifully expressed inside the main hall

The windows give glimpses to the surrounding buildings

Glulam (laminated timber) columns meet the two tone sprung floor

The semi-transparent external wall of the hall
